Two people were stabbed after a fight broke out at a community college in Westchester County, according to officials, and the suspects were taken into custody.
Multiple 911 calls were made just after 12:30 p.m. Wednesday regarding a stabbing at Westchester Community College, county officials said. Two people were stabbed after an argument turned physical on the campus in Valhalla, according to county police.
One of the victims had been stabbed in the back, while the other was stabbed in the head, according to law enforcement sources. One victim suffered serious injuries, police said. Both were taken to Westchester Medical Center, where a spokesperson described their conditions as “stable.”
Two other individuals, who county police said were the suspects, were taken to Phelps Hospital where they were treated for injuries suffered during the fight. However, neither of the suspects had been stabbed.
The two suspects were taken into custody at the college, and a knife was recovered at the scene, county officials said. No other suspects were being sought by police.
The fight occurred in the middle of the day, in front of other students.
Students at the school were informed via text from police that the situation had been contained.
