SHEEPSHEAD BAY, Brooklyn (PIX11) — A woman’s body was found in a trash can off the Belt Parkway on Wednesday afternoon, according to the NYPD.
Police say the body was located in a quiet area off the Belt Parkway where people usually go jogging or biking.
A call came into 911 when someone spotted the woman dumped in a trash can. Police responded just after 3:00 p.m.
Police say the woman was unconscious and unresponsive. Emergency services pronounced her dead at the scene.
The woman’s identity is being withheld until her family has been notified.
The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will determine the cause of death.
Police say no arrests have been made, and that investigations remain ongoing.
