NEW YORK CITY — President Donald Trump has issued a pardon to former New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani and 76 other individuals allegedly involved in efforts to overturn the 2020 presidential election.
“This proclamation ends a grave national injustice perpetrated upon the American people following the 2020 Presidential Election and continues the process of national reconciliation,” U.S. Pardon Attorney Ed Martin wrote in a social media post.
This pardon does not apply to the President of the United States.
Other individuals named in the pardon include Sidney Powell, Boris Epshteyn, John Eastman and Mark Meadows.
Also pardoned were individuals that posed as fake Republican electors for Trump in 2020 and were charged in state cases submitting fake certificates.
The White House has not commented on the pardons yet.
