SOUTHERN TIER, N.Y. (WBNG) — Child Passenger Safety Week is Sept. 20 – Sept. 26, and the New York State Police (NYSP) says it is committed to safety and continues to focus on preventing injuries and fatalities resulting from improperly secured child passengers.
Troop C of the NYSP will host two free child passenger car seat checks from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.: the first on Tuesday, Sept. 22, at 2354 NY-434 in Owego, and the second on Wednesday, Sept. 23, at 2 Technology Place in Homer.
Certified child passenger safety technicians will run inspections and make sure car seats are properly installed.
Appointments are not required, but attendees should call Troop C before stopping by.
The NYSP encourages parents and caregivers to use this free service.
