A Staten Island man was indicted after an armed home invasion in Port Richmond and a chokehold assault at Duffy’s tavern in West Brighton. Michael Scalegnio of College Avenue was indicted on Sept. 10 for burglarizing a woman’s home, where police say a black .45-caliber SAR Arms automatic pistol was recovered. Court documents say he later assaulted a 67-year-old man at Duffy’s tavern in April, placing him in a chokehold and telling him, “I’m going to kill you,” before leaving. Scalegnio was arrested on May 9, pleaded not guilty, and is due back in state Criminal Court in St. George on Nov. 5.
