NEW YORK CITY (WABC) — Eyewitness News anchors Mike Marza and Liz Cho are running the 2026 TCS New York City Marathon to raise funds for the Alzheimer’s Association.

It’s Liz’s first time running, and Mike’s second, but what makes this so special for both of them is that they are running in honor of dear colleague and friend, Bill Ritter.

Bill announced in June that he was stepping down from the Channel 7 Eyewitness News anchor desk after he was diagnosed with early-stage Alzheimer’s, and has now made it his mission to report on the disease while living with it.

So, in his honor, Mike and Liz are running and fundraising on behalf of the Alzheimer’s Association.

If you would like to support them, you can scan the QR code below, or click the link here.

The money raised will go towards supporting care and research into finding a cure.
