NEW YORK (PIX11) — Earlier in the week, an announcement was made stating that access to YouTube will be severely restricted on school devices. That change went into effect ahead of the school year.

It follows major changes to general screen time, which is barred before the third grade and limited to less than an hour in grades three through eight.

Another rule from the Zohran Mamdani Administration was announced, banning all forward-facing artificial intelligence for students until high school, but these sweeping changes are just the beginning, and there’s lots to be figured out in the details.

New York City Education Chairperson, Councilmember Eric Dinowitz goes on the record.
