EAST VILLAGE (PIX11) — A teenage girl was killed, and another was hospitalized after they were both struck by a truck in the East Village on Friday night, according to police.

The 16-year-old was operating a Citi Bike with a 15-year-old as a passenger in the area of East 14th Street and First Avenue just before 9 p.m., authorities said. They began making a northbound turn at the same time as a 57-year-old commercial truck driver who was turning onto First Avenue, officials reported.
