Jason Sanders is getting the starting nod for the second straight week at placekicker. God help us all.
For good luck, we should all do something. A rain dance? A small ritual animal sacrifice? Some superstitious thing? Whatever works, man.
In Week 1, Sanders missed a 54-yard field goal attempt. The crowd let out a collective groan and yelled at Sanders, telling him, “You stink!” There were other things shouted in his direction, but I don’t believe I’m allowed to type those things out here on Gang Green Nation.
Despite that ugly miss, Sanders bounced back in a major way, and the team liked his resilience. He bought himself another week, but nothing more than that. Until he proves his abilities consistently, Sanders will continue to be on thin ice.
The Jets clearly believe in him, but should we?
