WANA (Sep 20) – Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian will travel to New York in the coming days to attend and address the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly.
During his visit, Pezeshkian is scheduled to deliver a speech at the UN General Assembly and hold meetings and talks with leaders and senior officials from several countries on the sidelines of the session.
According to reports, none of the members of the Iranian president’s media team have been granted U.S. visas this year to cover his visit. The move has raised concerns over restrictions on media coverage of the Iranian president’s trip.
The 81st session of the UN General Assembly will be held at the organization’s headquarters in New York from September 22 to 29, 2026 (31 Shahrivar to 7 Mehr 1405). The General Assembly is the United Nations’ main multilateral forum, providing an opportunity for member states to discuss and make decisions on international and global issues.
