Cohoes, NY (WRGB) — Two Cohoes businesses are facing state enforcement action after investigators confirmed unlicensed cannabis sales following community complaints.
The Cohoes Police Department received multiple complaints on September 16 about suspected illegal cannabis activity at Krunchy Deli, 45 White St., and Smoke Rite 3, 125 Main St. Police confirmed unlicensed cannabis sales at both locations and then contacted the New York State Office of Cannabis Management’s Enforcement and Investigations Division for assistance.
After search warrants were executed, the Office of Cannabis Management conducted inspections at both businesses, issued Notices of Violation for unlicensed cannabis sales and seized all illicit cannabis found on site.
The Office of Cannabis Management took enforcement action but did not seal either location based on the evidence gathered during the inspections. Officials said additional enforcement action may be taken if either business continues to engage in illegal cannabis activity.
There were no accusations of sales to minors and no documented adverse health events associated with either location.
