A motorcycle operator from Brooklyn was killed on Sept. 17 in a one-vehicle crash on the Ed Koch Queensboro Bridge.
Police said Luis Cadena, 29, of East 70th Street, was on the Manhattan-bound entrance ramp to the upper deck at about 6:20 p.m. when his Yamaha R7 struck a median. Officers responding to the 911 call found that Cadena had been ejected from the motorcycle and had sustained severe trauma. EMS personnel took him to New York-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center where he later was pronounced dead.
The initial investigation determined that Cadena failed to navigate the roadway and struck the median. The NYPD Highway District’s Collision Investigation Squad is continuing its probe of the crash.
