Social media can make relationships appear perfect, but what happens behind the screen may tell a different story. A film-based workshop will help young people recognize warning signs, distinguish online personas from real-life behavior and develop safer, healthier connections.
The Great Neck Library will host “Behind the Post: Teen Social Media Safety” from 6:30 to 7:15 p.m. Monday, Oct. 5, at the Station Branch, 26 Great Neck Road, second level.
Presented by the Nassau Crime Victims Center, the 45-minute interactive program will feature a film screening followed by a facilitated discussion about relationships portrayed on social media and the potential disconnect between digital images and real-life behavior.
