A 14-year-old boy is fighting for his life after he was shot in Queens on Monday afternoon.

According to police sources, the young boy was walking near 51-24 Beach Channel Drive in Far Rockaway at around 3:36 p.m. on Sept. 21 when shots rang out. He was struck in the back by a bullet, leaving him critically wounded.

Officers from the 101st Precinct rushed to the scene. EMS raced the wounded teen to Cohen Children’s Medical Center, where he is listed in serious condition.

Police sources say they are investigating whether the victim was shot in a possible robbery attempt over his scooter.

Authorities say they are looking to question a male who was last seen fleeing on a scooter wearing a black sweatshirt and white shorts.

Police are asking the public to stay clear of the area while they investigate. No arrests have been made and the investigation remains ongoing.
