NYSP: Parole officers on compliance check find guns & drugs in Salina home

SALINA, N.Y. — On September 18, New York State Parole Officers conducted a compliance check at the residence of parolee Naquee B. Chavers, in the town of Salina.

During the compliance check, Parole Officers conducted a search of the residence, during which two handguns were located. Saiza N. Lodman, a resident of the home, was also taken into custody.

Following the discovery of the firearms, members of the New York State Police were contacted. Members of the Community Stabilization Unit (CSU) and Violent Gang and Narcotics Enforcement Team (VGNET) subsequently executed a search warrant at the residence.

During the search, State Police secured the firearms and located Suboxone pills and drug paraphernalia.

Naquee B. Chavers, age 32, was charged with:

Two counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree (Class C felony)Three counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Third Degree (Class D felony)Two counts of Criminal Possession of a Firearm (Class E felony)Two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree (Class A misdemeanor)One count of Criminal Use of Drug Paraphernalia in the Second Degree (Class A misdemeanor)

Saiza N. Lodman, age 32, was charged with:

One count of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Third Degree (Class D felony)Two counts of Criminal Possession of a Firearm (Class E felony)Two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree (Class A misdemeanor)One count of Criminal Use of Drug Paraphernalia in the Second Degree (Class A misdemeanor)

Chavers and Lodman were transported to SP North Syracuse for processing and transported to the Onondaga County Justice Center pending arraignment.
