News of the world! Phoenix area fans of the beloved rock band Queen have a chance to see the world’s top Queen tribute act, Killer Queen. Fronted by Patrick Myers as Freddie Mercury, Killer Queen perform a set that features Queen hits and favorites including “We Will Rock You,” “Crazy Little Thing Called Love,” “Under Pressure,” “Another One Bites the Dust,” “Somebody to Love,” “Radio Ga Ga,” “We Will Rock You,” “We Are the Champions” and many others. Of course the mega-popular “Bohemian Rhapsody” is performed, usually as an encore.
Killer Queen has earned an enormous amount of accolades including being named Worldwide Best Tribute Band; they even recreated Queen’s harmonies for “The Real Life” with Fatboy Slim. Speaking about the group’s success, Myers says, “It’s been an amazing journey. That first show we did changed my life. We thought our band would last maybe a summer at the most but it’s a very addictive thing performing these songs. The concerts grew and grew and we’ve ended up selling out the same arenas that Queen played at their peak.” Killer Queen has been performing their tribute for more than thirty years. Their October tour of the U.S. marks a 10th anniversary of their first shows in America. The tour begins in Reno, Nevada on October 2 and wraps up in Hidalgo, Texas October 25. There is also a second Arizona show slated for October 13 at La Rosa in Tucson.
