Committee formed to advocate for self-driving cars in N.Y.

A newly formed advocacy group is seeking to boost support for self-driving cars, which are currently not allowed to operate in New York state.

The group is called A Better Road Forward and is backed by Waymo, the self-driving car company owned by the parent company of Google.

The group has launched its first TV ad, hoping to win over policymakers and the public.

Kenny Burgos is a member of the group’s advisory board; he’s a former state assembly member and currently the head of the New York Apartment Association. Basil Seggos is the chair of the advisory board; he’s also the former head of the State’s Department of Environmental Conservation.
