Bloomberg, citing a source familiar with the matter, has reported that a meeting between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen in New York was tense.

Details: The source told Bloomberg that Zelenskyy and von der Leyen discussed further financial and defence support for Ukraine during the meeting in New York. The meeting was tense.
The Ukrainian side expressed concern about the potential escalation of Russian attacks in winter and the shortage of air defence missiles.
The source also said Ukraine reacted angrily during the talks to the EU’s decision to lift sanctions on two Russian oligarchs as part of an agreement to extend the broader sanctions regime.
Following the meeting, von der Leyen wrote on X (Twitter) that Europe is working harder than ever to strengthen Ukraine’s defence.
