According to police sources, 24-year-old Jayde Browne of Brownsville was shot multiple times inside of the popular McLaughlin Park. While the nature of the argument is not clear, minutes later, at approximately 2:07 p.m., the NYPD received a 911 call reporting that a man had been shot.

When officers from the 84th Precinct arrived they found Browne with gunshot wounds to the stomach. EMS rushed him to New York Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital in critical condition. He could not be saved and was pronounced dead. Sources say that Browne was known to the department and had one prior arrest for criminal possession of a weapon in 2025.
Meanwhile, police say they are on the hunt for the individuals that were seen hassling Browne. One was last seen wearing a gray Nike Tech suit with a black backpack and the other was dressed in a green Nike Tech suit. Following the deadly shooting they made a run for it northbound on Flatbush Avenue, then east to Concord Street.
So far no arrests have been made but the investigation remains ongoing.
