One person was killed and another badly hurt in a fire at a Bronx apartment building Wednesday morning, FDNY officials said.
At least seven others, including two firefighters, were less seriously injured after the blaze broke out about 7:45 a.m. on Montgomery Ave. near W. 174th St. in Morris Heights.
One person died at the scene, while a person in critical condition and the less seriously hurt victims were all taken to local hospitals.
The cause of the fire in the fourth-floor apartment in the six-story building is under investigation. The blaze quickly grew to two alarms and spread to an adjacent apartment.
