NYC is replacing sidewalks damaged just last year in Staten Island’s New Dorp Beach after a major drainage project. Construction was underway last week along Roma Avenue, where sections were removed after reports of scaling and chipping. A city spokesperson said the agency is coordinating with the contractor to fully replace the affected sections at no cost to homeowners. The sidewalks were installed as part of an $84 million resiliency project that added 1.6 miles of storm sewers and 101 catch basins.
