Community activist Mrs. Irene Cheung hosted a successful fundraiser for the reelection of Assemblyman Edward C. Braunstein on Thursday, September 17 at the Ivory Kitchen restaurant in Douglaston. Assemblyman Braunstein is running for re-election to the 26th District in Queens.
An excellent buffet luncheon was served. Juan Giovanni Urena serenaded everyone with international songs, motivating dancing by the participants. Asian melodies were sung by Echo, a famous Asian American singer. Prominent community activists and business leaders attended, showing their support for the assemblyman.
“Everybody in Northeast Queens wants the same thing,” said Assemblyman Braunstein. “We have great schools. We have a safe community in a safe lifestyle. I’ve been in office for 16 years. It’s been a privilege to represent Eastern Queens. In this community, we all want the same things, our neighborhoods are safe and quiet with a lot of green space. I’m going to continue to fight for that, supporting law enforcement. Our students have the opportunity for the American dream.”

Assemblyman Braunstein was elected to the New York State Assembly in 2010 to represent the 26th District in Northeast Queens, which includes the neighborhoods of Auburndale, Bay Terrace, Bayside, Bayside Hills, Broadway-Flushing, Douglaston, Floral Park, Glen Oaks, Little Neck, New Hyde Park, North Shore Towers, Oakland Gardens, and Whitestone. The fundraiser by Irene Cheung was a success with great food and musical entertainment.
