ASTORIA, Queens (WABC) — A man who was shot during an attempted robbery outside a club in Astoria early Thursday has died, police said.
The victim, a man in his 40s, was shot in the back outside a gentleman’s club at 34 Steinway St. shortly before 3:40 a.m.
Authorities said the shooting happened during an attempted robbery. The victim was taken to Elmhurst Hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
Police said the suspect fled westbound on 35th Avenue in a white Mercedes-Benz SUV. He was last seen wearing a green Nike Tech sweatsuit.
No arrests have been made, and the investigation remains ongoing.
