SYRACUSE, N.Y. — New York State Police seized more than 175 grams of cocaine, a 12-gauge shotgun and $8,277 in cash during a search of a Syracuse home Tuesday.
Members of the Troop D Violent Gang and Narcotics Enforcement Team, with assistance from other State Police units, executed a search warrant around 10 a.m. Sept. 22 at 1208 James St., according to state police.
Investigators seized approximately 155.9 grams of cocaine and 22.2 grams of crack cocaine, as well as numerous Suboxone strips, digital scales, packaging materials, a cutting agent and the cash, Troopers said.
Akeem R. Brown, 42, was arrested and charged with:
Criminal possession of a controlled substance in the second degree, a Class A-II felonyCriminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree, a Class B felonyCriminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree, a Class A misdemeanorThree counts of criminally using drug paraphernalia, Class A misdemeanors
Quanisha D. Duncan, 30, was arrested and charged with first-degree failure to safely store rifles, shotguns and firearms, a Class A misdemeanor.
Both were taken to State Police in North Syracuse for processing. Duncan was released on an appearance ticket, while Brown was transported to the Onondaga County Justice Center for arraignment.
The Syracuse Police Department and FBI assisted State Police with the investigation.
