Two Essex County men are among three people charged with kidnapping a man outside a Midtown Manhattan club, beating him during a drive through the Lincoln Tunnel and abandoning him in West Orange, federal prosecutors said.
Kenny Fetiere, 26, of West Orange, and Kibret Meles, 28, of Livingston, were arrested Tuesday, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York said in a statement.
Dani Amanuel, 28, of Manhattan, remained at large when prosecutors announced the charges.
The three men and others allegedly offered the victim a ride from outside the club to his hotel on June 12.
Once he got into their car, they restrained him, struck him with their hands and a sharp object, and demanded his Rolex watch, iPhone and phone password, according to the indictment.
The New York Post reported the man was an attorney visiting Manhattan for work and that he was at Rick’s Cabaret on West 33rd Street when he was abducted.
The suspects allegedly drove the victim through the Lincoln Tunnel into New Jersey and left him in West Orange.
The indictment does not identify the victim or say where in West Orange he was abandoned.
The victim suffered multiple fractures to the bones around his face, a cut to his finger that required stitches and bruising. He spent three days in a hospital.
Each man is charged with kidnapping and conspiracy to commit kidnapping.
