Bronx Council Member Eric Dinowitz, chair of the Council’s education committee and a former public school teacher, joined “Inside City Hall” to discuss the decision to eliminate the Regents as a statewide requirement for a high school diploma.
At a hearing to discuss new graduation requirements, Dinowitz said they’re looking into “portfolio-based assessments,” which examine a total body of work over a single test, and he says the Department of Education already has schools that have implemented this method.
