For the past six years, New York’s real-life Halloween town–recently ranked among the best fall escapes in the country–has hosted a spellbinding one-day celebration where costumed witches, warlocks, and wizards take to the Hudson River on stand-up paddleboards.
What started in 2020 as a small gathering of 16 paddlers has exploded into one of the most highly anticipated Hudson Valley fall festivals, drawing hundreds of participants and spectators alike to Kingsland Point Park.
Whether you want to paddle with the coven or simply sip local craft beer while shopping for mystical wares, here’s everything you need to know about this year’s festival.

🧙♀️ What to Expect in the Witches’ Hollow
Today, the festival is about more than just balancing skills on the water—it’s a wicked day of community, shopping, and spooky revelry. Attendees can expect:
Wicked Wares & Vendors: Scratch that shopping itch with dozens of curated local artisans. Pick up crystal-infused candles from Moon Goddess Candles, tarot readings from Tarot Mystic of Sleepy Hollow, hand-crocheted horror dolls, and organic herbal potions from Elder Sisters Apothecary
Devilishly Good Eats & Brews: Bring your appetite! The food truck lineup includes wood-fired pies from Pizza Vitale, fresh mason-jar cocktails from Manor Sangria, seasonal craft beers from Beekman Ale House, and artisan sweets from Luxx Chocolat
Live Entertainment: Vibe to live music from Might & The Weevils and The Incumbents playing right by the water

🗓️ 2026 Sup Witches Festival Schedule
Like the tides of the Hudson, the schedule may shift slightly as the event approaches.
12 pm: Festival begins (gates open for attendees and ticket sales)
1 pm – 2:15 pm: Live music from Might & The Weevils
2 pm – 3 pm: SUP Witches Paddle (the main event!)
3 pm – 4:30 pm: Live music from The Incumbents
5 pm: Festival ends
🧹 How to Join the Paddle
Ready to hit the water? Those interested in paddling must =EVENT%2FSUPWITCHES”]register in advance by October 7, 2026 ($35 for those bringing their own board/kayak, $50 for SUP rentals).
Note: Paddling witches do not need to purchase an extra festival ticket.
Non-negotiable requirements before you launch:
You must be in a costume you can comfortably paddle (and potentially swim) in
PFDs (Life Jackets) and leashes are strictly required
Previous paddle experience is mandatory—the Hudson River is not for beginners!
‼️ Secret NYC Tip: Because this is one of the most popular things to do near NYC in October, parking fills up incredibly quickly. Traffic around Sleepy Hollow is notoriously heavy during spooky season, so if you’re bringing your own paddleboard, arrive right at 10 am am to unload. The park gates close to vehicles strictly at 11:30 am!

🚆 By train: Take Metro-North’s Hudson Line from Grand Central Terminal to Tarrytown, then grab a quick rideshare to the festival in Sleepy Hollow
🚗 By car: From NYC, take the Henry Hudson Parkway → Saw Mill River Parkway → I-87 N toward Sleepy Hollow. The drive typically takes around 45 minutes to 1 hour, depending on traffic
