Williamsburg is getting a new street name — one that will honor a Brooklyn music figure who helped make the neighborhood a destination for live music.
The City of New York will dedicate the stretch of Broadway in front of Baby’s All Right to Billy Jones, the beloved co-founder of the Williamsburg music venue who died in 2025.
The street, running between Bedford and Driggs avenues, will officially become “Billy Jones Way” during a dedication on Oct. 18 at 5:30 p.m. outside Baby’s All Right.
The ceremony will be followed by a free party at the venue featuring live performances and DJ sets from a secret lineup of artists connected to the club’s history. The lineup has not yet been announced.
Jones co-founded Baby’s All Right in 2013 with longtime business partner Tom Moore after working as a booker at venues including Sin-é, Elvis Guesthouse and The Dance.
The club quickly became a home for Brooklyn’s indie and experimental music communities while also hosting performances by major artists including Dua Lipa, Billie Eilish, Lorde and Charli XCX.
Tom Moore, Baby’s All Right’s owner and CEO, said the venue is “beyond grateful to see Billy’s legacy honored by the city in this way.”
“It is fitting because he was more than a tastemaker — Billy Jones didn’t let a soul forget for one second that a concert was about having fun, taking a chance and knowing that anything could be the start of a story.”
Jones and Moore continued expanding their nightlife footprint in 2025 while maintaining the intimate spirit of Baby’s All Right. The pair opened Night Club 101 in the East Village and Funny Bar on the Lower East Side, adding to Jones’ influence across New York’s music and cultural scenes.
The upcoming dedication will bring that legacy back to the Williamsburg block where Jones helped build Baby’s All Right into one of Brooklyn’s best-known live music venues.
The motion was sponsored by Council Member Jennifer Gutiérrez, who represents District 34. She expressed her excitement to “celebrate Billy Jones and the legacy he leaves behind in Williamsburg” on Instagram.
Nicole Jones Holland, Jones’ sister, made a statement about the naming on Facebook. She said that she was “excited that this idea was born from a group of his very special friends who went the distance to get it done. To witness people working so hard to do something for my brother has been amazing. Thank you just doesn’t cut it.”
She added that the naming is about “Dreaming. Working. Giving. Loving. Connecting. Clawing his way. Never quitting. And never giving up on goals that were planted in his heart decades earlier. The sign just signifies the impact that one person can have on so many.”
“We’d rather have him than all these amazing things,” Holland added.
The ceremony begins at 5:30 p.m. on Oct. 18, followed by a free celebration at Baby’s All Right.
