A wind-swept solar panel flew off a Brooklyn carport, striking a woman in the head and leaving her dead, city investigators ruled Monday.

The large panel, roughly 3-feet by 7-feet, came off its frame at a parking lot in Brighton Beach Sunday morning around 10:30 a.m. and smacked the woman in the head.

Police said the 76-year-old woman was taken to Lutheran Medical Center, but her injuries ultimately proved to be fatal.

The Department of Buildings determined the “detached panel was taken by the wind and blown approximately 20 feet away where it fatally struck a pedestrian at an adjacent walkway.”

A partial vacate order of the parking lot was issued by the department for the area underneath the outdoor carport.

The incident happened close to one of the entrances to the Ocean Parkway (Q train) subway entrance, prompting a temporary closure as high winds persist in the area.
