The Center for Brooklyn History of the Brooklyn Public Library, located at 128 Pierrepont Street (photo; corner of Clinton) has an extensive collection of art and artifacts relevant to the history of Brooklyn. You may see some of these items on display at the Center, which is open Monday through Friday 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, Saturday 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, and closed Sunday. You may also see items from the Center’s collections, which “include over 5,700 artifacts, 300 paintings, 1,700 drawings and watercolors, 1,200 prints, and more” on line here.
