What’s New at The Rockefeller Rink This Season
Even if you go each year, skating at the Rockefeller Center Rink is exciting. I was born and bred in New York City, raised my kids here, and every year, the rink’s opening is still compelling to see. The views are so fun and festive that it never really feels boring, and it instantly puts you in the holiday spirit. New experiences are slated for this holiday season. To celebrate 90 seasons of skating, families can check out the expanded Skate House beginning November 14. Also, a new VIP Skate Lounge will offer priority access to the ice, lounge areas, warm drinks, snacks, and seasonal extras.
A favorite last year, the popular Holiday Chalets return November 6. These private, cozy spaces can accommodate up to six people and offer views of the Rink and Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree.
Also new this year are 90th Anniversary Lodges, opening November 20. The six lodges are a larger take on the traditional chalets and can accommodate up to eight guests.
Food and drinks at the Skate House, chalets, and lodges will be curated by Chef Greg Baxtrom and his Rockefeller Center restaurant, 5 Acres.
