New York State Liquor Authority cancels Tom & Marty’s Town House liquor license

  • September 29, 2026

BINGHAMTON, N.Y. (WBNG) — The New York State Liquor Authority (SLA) has canceled the liquor license for Tom & Marty’s Town House after the business defaulted on multiple charges.

The restaurant, located at 89 State Street, operated under licensee Shea 89 Inc. The SLA said the latest charges included pre-mixing drinks and failing to conform to its liquor license terms.

The business has also faced prior violations involving the sale of alcohol to people under the legal drinking age.

The same licensee was ordered to pay a $10,000 penalty earlier this year for violations involving unregistered security guards and failure to supervise.

During a meeting on Sept. 2, the SLA said Shea 89 Inc. had defaulted on multiple charges and failed to respond to repeated requests from the authority.

An SLA official also described the business as appearing to be a college bar and said the situation presented a concern for public safety, health and welfare.

The board ultimately sustained the charges and ordered a $1,000 bond claim and cancellation of the liquor license.

The SLA’s decision does not establish whether the building or business can operate in another capacity without a liquor license.
