Molly Gordon knows a good find when she sees one. In The Fashion Connection, a collaboration between Vogue and eBay, the actress, writer, and director travels from one fashion capital to the next, discovering pre-loved pieces that speak to each city—and making them distinctly her own along the way. In New York, a Tiffany Heart Tag necklace in a robin’s-egg blue box stops her in her tracks on eBay Live, an interactive livestream shopping platform where shoppers can watch, bid on, and score coveted pieces in real time. In London, the perfect vintage Alexander McQueen jacket comes with a token of the past. In Milan, she finds a sweet-as-gelato, authentic Fendi bag. And in Paris, a bonne trouvaille—a great find—just might bring a little luck in love. And it’s all unfolding on eBay.

The thrill isn’t just in the discovery. It’s in wondering where a piece has been, who loved it before, and where it might go next. “I love anything with real history,” Gordon says. And on eBay, “Every piece has a story.” Sometimes, traces of those former lives come along for the ride, turning up in unexpected places: a forgotten ticket to a West End play tucked inside a jacket; a bag with a handwritten love story from the person who last carried it, bearing a simple invitation: “Your turn.” Gordon picks up where the previous owner left off, taking each piece somewhere new and adding another chapter to its history.

Styling is part of the fun, too. Around each new find, Gordon builds a look that taps into the city’s particular fashion vernacular. A Patrick Kelly leopard bustier channels New York’s bold, wayward energy; a Stephen Jones x John Galliano newsboy cap nods to London’s poise; and a fringed Moschino skirt evokes the glamour of Milan’s iconic sciura. Those just scratch the surface, however: eBay is home to a vast selection of rare collectibles, archival finds, and pieces you’d be hard-pressed to find anywhere else. And with sellers around the world continually putting remarkable fashion back into circulation, there’s always something new to discover.
