New York City is building its first dedicated professional soccer stadium in Queens—a 25,000-seat, fully electric venue

New York City Football Club is officially building New York City’s first dedicated professional soccer stadium.

The state-of-the-art venue, named Etihad Park, will open in Queens for the 2027 MLS season.

Even better, it will make history as the first-ever fully electric soccer stadium in Major League Soccer.

Starting in 2028, the venue will also serve as the home field for NWSL champions Gotham FC.

A historic home for New York City soccer

For years, local soccer fans have waited for a venue to call their own. Etihad Park solves that with a 25,000-seat stadium designed specifically for the sport.

Visitors will enter through “The Cube,” an immersive, seven-story front door that sets the stage for match day. Outside the gates, the venue includes 40,000 square feet of open public space for community events and gatherings year-round.

Local eats and fan experiences

Food plays a major role in the new stadium design. The venue will feature the Five Boroughs Food Hall, showcasing small businesses and local vendors from across all five boroughs.
