Deana Jean found a lump in her breast during her third pregnancy in 2016. After imaging and a biopsy, she learned the lump was cancer. She was diagnosed with stage 2 invasive ductal carcinoma and began chemotherapy. At 35 weeks, her baby’s heart rate dropped, and an emergency C-section followed. Her daughter was born healthy, and Jean continued treatment with surgery, radiation, and hormone therapy. Nearly 10 years later, her sons are growing up, and her daughter is now 10.
