Good morning, Buffalo. Here’s what you need to know today.

Your Weather Planner

Lake effect snow continues this morning. The northtowns/Niagara Frontier and the Chautauqua ridge will pick up an extra 3-6″. The Buffalo metro will see a little less, approximately 2-4″.

Along with the snow showers, it will be a very breezy day. There may be wind gusts that exceed 30 mph, which means blowing snow is possible. This may make driving difficuilt at times. Take your time while traveling.

The narrow lake effect bands fall apart this afternoon but you can still expect very cold and breezy conditions. Temperature will feel in the 20s.

Later tonight, our wind direction will change to be out of the southwest and we will see another band set up on Lake Erie. This band will bring more snow showers for the northern Erie, Niagara, and Orleans Counties.

By Wednesday morning, this band will slowly transition from snow to rain. Conditions Wednesday morning could be sloppy and slippery.

Thursday and Friday look to be trending drier and slightly warmer!
