NEW YORK, N.Y. (PIX11) — Summer-like warmth was a sweet treat to end the workweek, but reality settled in early Saturday morning as crisp fall air was pulled back into the region.
More of that is expected in the coming days, and it could get down right cold in some locations next week.
As we move into Saturday evening and Saturday night, you can expect skies to become partly cloudy. Humidity levels will remain low and winds will be light out of the northeast. Overnight temperatures will primarily be in the 50s, but 40s are likely in northwestern New Jersey, the Hudson Valley and parts of Connecticut.
After a bright start Sunday morning, clouds will begin to increase as a storm system moves up the eastern seaboard. Another cold front will approach from the west as well. The combination will kick off another round of showers, especially during the afternoon and evening. Temperatures will only be in the 60s.

Conditions will then dry out on Monday as the aforementioned cold front rumbles through the region. Skies will become mostly sunny and winds will be on the increase. Gusts in excess of 25 mph are possible. Afternoon highs will reach the mid 60s to low 70s.
Expect some chilly air to settle into the region later in the day as a second, stronger cold front moves through. Tuesday morning’s temperatures are forecasted to drop into the 40s, with a few 30s possible north and west of the city. Afternoon highs will only be in the mid-50s to low 60s.

Another chilly start is forecasted on Wednesday, but conditions will begin to moderate as winds shift to the southwest later in the day. Temperatures will rise into the upper 60s Wednesday afternoon and then warm into the lower 70s on Thursday.
