After another dominant day from top to bottom, Manhattan High cross country swept all four team titles Saturday at the Maple Leaf XC Classic in Baldwin City.
The Indians’ girls varsity team won with 28 points, while the boys followed with 38. Manhattan also took the girls’ and boys’ B-team titles, continuing the depth that has been a strength throughout the season.
Senior Gabrielle Converse led the girls individually, winning in 17:57.00 and lowering her own school record for the second time this season. Her previous time was 17:58.43 at the Southern Stampede in September, which then broke her own school record of 18:03.65 set at last year’s Stampede.
Sophomore Zara Koehn finished runner-up in 18:20.32, followed by junior Andie Strathman in eighth (19:27.97), sophomore Allison Knopp in ninth (19:37.32) and junior Lauren Perry in 11th (19:53.89) to round out the scoring five. Sophomore Isla Spreer placed 12th (19:57.13), while freshman Franci Irvine was 14th (19:58.25). Knopp and Irvine both recorded personal bests.
