MANHATTAN, Kan. (WIBW) – A man was being held on a $100,000 bond in the Riley County Jail after he was arrested in connection with rape and other sex crimes late Friday in Manhattan, authorities said.
The arrested man was identified as Giovani Gavaska Green, 26, of Jamaica, N.Y.
Authorities said Green was arrested at approximately 5:03 p.m. Friday in the 1000 block of S. Seth Child Road.

He was then booked into the Riley County Jail in connection with rape; aggravated sexual battery; and three counts of lewd and lascivious behavior.
Riley County Police officials said Green’s arrest stems from a report originally filed in August 2025 by a 20-year-old female victim, who knows the suspect.
Green remained in the Riley County Jail on Monday morning, officials said.
Because of the nature of these crimes, additional information wasn’t being released as of Monday, officials said.
