A Bronx woman is dead and a baby girl is in critical condition after the pair fell from a Bronx balcony early Tuesday morning, according to police.

NYPD officials said someone called 911 from an apartment building on Ollinville and Allerton avenues around 3:38 a.m. When officers arrived, they found a 23-year-old woman and the infant outside with injuries consistent with falling, police said — though they said it was still unclear whether the pair fell, jumped, or were pushed.

EMS took both the woman and the child to Jacobi Hospital, where the woman was pronounced dead and the baby girl remains critically injured, according to the NYPD.

Police are investigating and have not yet made any arrests in connection to the incident.

They did not immediately identify the woman or child.
