For weeks, residents on Manhattan’s east side have been rallying around the planned closure of AMC Kips Bay.

The beloved movie theater is set to close at the end of the year, with NYU Langone expected to take over the space.

Locals say the movie theater has been a vital part of their neighborhood since it opened in 1999.

Manhattan Borough President Brad Hoylman-Sigal, meanwhile, has said will not approve any rezoning of the site that does not include a movie theater and a grocery store.

He joined “Mornings On 1” to discuss the push to save the venue.
