Since taking office, Mayor Zohran Mamdani has announced a wave of initiatives aimed at making New York City affordable.
Notably, he has a plan to open city-run grocery stores in each borough, where staple goods would be sold below typical retail costs.
The administration will be working closely on a project with its Economic Development Corporation.
This summer, city government veteran Anthony Shorris was tapped to lead the EDC.
He previously served as first deputy mayor under former Mayor Bill de Blasio.
Shorris joined NY1 political anchor Errol Louis on “Inside City Hall” Tuesday to discuss more.
