NEW YORK – The latest assist from Casper and New York City FC comes with a softer landing: 195 mattresses for individuals and families served by Neighborhood Housing Services of Queens.
The mattress company and Major League Soccer club gathered this week at the housing organization’s Elmhurst location to celebrate the donation, bringing their season partnership off the pitch and into the community.
Players from the club’s first and second teams joined representatives from Casper, New York City FC, its charitable foundation City in the Community and the housing organization. Council Member Shanel Thomas-Henry and Rugs.com also participated, with Rugs.com contributing rugs to the movement.

“At Casper, we strive to make great sleep simple, and that starts with a comfortable place to rest,” said Torrie Leppla, vice president of marketing at Casper. “We’re proud to work with New York City FC and Neighborhood Housing Services of Queens to bring that comfort to more individuals and families across Queens. Casper began in New York, so being able to support our neighbors with the products we make is especially meaningful to us.”

The donation builds on Casper’s partnership with New York City FC for the 2026 season, which focuses on the role of rest and recovery on and off the field.
For the soccer club, the event also offered an opportunity to strengthen ties in Queens ahead of the opening of its future home, Etihad Park.
“Giveback Day reflects the kind of relationship we want to build with our future neighbors, one rooted in showing up, listening to local needs and working alongside partners to make a meaningful contribution,” said Jennifer O’Sullivan, chief operating officer of New York City FC.
Yoselin Genao Estrella, executive director of Neighborhood Housing Services of Queens CDC, said the mattresses and rugs address a basic need for neighbors facing hardship.
“For a family facing hardship, a good night’s rest can mean waking up with renewed hope and strength to face another day,” she said.
