A star-studded Netflix film backed by Michelle Obama’s production company is filming at Wolfe’s Pond Park on Staten Island this week. The comedy-drama, “Women Like Us,” lists Michelle Obama as an executive producer for Higher Ground, the media company she created with former President Barack Obama, according to Deadline. A source told the Advance that a concert scene featuring Mary J. Blige, Vivica A. Fox and Jenifer Lewis will be filmed at the park. Lewis, Fox and Vanessa Williams were spotted on set Tuesday as crews prepared a concert stage, booths and lighting equipment. People on site said filming is expected to continue through Saturday. According to Deadline, the film follows a recently widowed woman who travels to the Hamptons with her lifelong best friends and sister for what would have been her 30th wedding anniversary. A premiere date has not been announced.
