Animal print shoes are on track to be a major trend for fall 2026, and Queen Mary of Denmark clearly has her finger (er, toe?) on the pulse. On Wednesday, the Danish queen and her husband, King Frederik attended a celebration of the 300th anniversary of Fredensborg Castle Church, and for the second time in recent weeks, Mary turned to some stunning, printed footwear to pull her look together.

To mark the historic anniversary, the queen chose an ensemble of a black V-neck blouse paired with a gold-tone pleated maxi skirt. She belted the skirt with a slim leather and chain belt, and completed the style with her newest fall go-tos: leopard print accessories.

In this case, Mary selected a pair of Gianvito Rossi pumps, as well as a leopard print pouch by Prada. The pumps have been a favorite of the queen’s closet for some time; in fact, she’s been spotted in the spotted style for over a decade: Royal watchers have noted Mary wearing a similar style of Gianvito Rossi pumps as far back as 2014, and her Prada purse first made an appearance in 2010.

This isn’t Mary’s first foray into leopard print this season. In August, when the queen returned to work after the royal family’s summer vacation, Mary donned a pair of similarly spotty flats for her visit to Momentet, a social-psychiatric facility run by the Deaconess Foundation.

In addition to the tricentennial, yesterday’s celebration also marked the first public appearance of Mary’s mother-in-law Queen Margrethe since the royal was hospitalized in September. The incident was the third time this year that the former monarch was admitted to hospital, and resulted in her being unable to attend the funeral of Norway’s King Harald.
