The public is invited to celebrate that spooky time of year with the BV (Buena Vista) Pride Coalition. Costumes are encouraged.

The Halloween drag show will start at 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 18, at the BV Heritage Museum (506 East Main Street).
Kings, Queens, and Things will feature a drag show, costume contest, and dance show. Cocktails and mocktails will be available for attendees.
There is a $10 cover charge for entry. As with any drag show, participants should plan to bring dollar bills to tip the cast.
Spooky awards will be given to the winners of the costume contest.
The show is not the only October event from BV Pride.
The organization held its first Chosen Family Supper Club on Tuesday, October 7. A group of ten community members gathered to eat together at Sushi Thai. BV Pride hopes to make this a monthly recurring event in the fall and winter.

This morning gathering is a recurring monthly event from BV Pride. Community members gather to for casual conversation and games over a morning beverage. This is an all ages event.

Queer Pages Book Club
6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 16.
This is a recurring monthly event. The October selection is “What Moves the Dead” by T. Kingfisher. Book is based off the short story “The Fall of the House of Usher” by Edgar Allen Poe.
The location will be provided closer to the event.
Queer Happy Hour
6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 21 at The Slammer.
This is a recurring monthly offering from BV Pride. Costumes are encouraged for the October event. There will also be a pumpkin carving contest. Participants can bring in a pre-carved or pre-painted pumpkin to enter into the contest. This is a 21 and older event.
BV Pride Coalition is a nonprofit run by LGBTQIA+ and ally community volunteers.
Donations are welcomed and encouraged by the organization to help continue community events like these.
