Transit detectives are looking for the suspect who violently stabbed a man on board a 6 train in the East Village early on Wednesday morning.
Police sources said the bloody attack occurred on an uptown-bound 6 train near the Astor Place station at about 2:25 a.m. on Oct. 14.
Officers from the 9th Precinct and NYPD Transit District 4 were alerted to the assault and found the wounded victim, a 40-year-old man, after the train arrived at Astor Place.

The suspect, meanwhile, had fled the station to parts unknown. Police said the perpetrator appeared to be a man with a dark complexion who wore a ski mask.
So far, no arrests have been made in the ongoing investigation, police said.
