Visualization studio Proof Inc. now has a New York studio, its first in the city and its first permanent East Coast base, with filmmaker Ari Aster’s next feature as the operation’s inaugural project. Founder and CEO Ron Frankel announced the expansion today at the VIEW Conference 2026 in Turin, Italy.
The move is a homecoming for Frankel, who started out doing previs in late-1990s Manhattan at previs house Pixel Liberation Front. He will oversee the New York studio, splitting his time between the Big Apple and the company’s Los Angeles headquarters.
Proof New York joins Proof London, Proof Australia, and the Los Angeles studio that has anchored the company since 2002; the company expanded to Brisbane this past July, with executive producer Katrina Peers at the helm. Proof has put together New York-based teams before, on Salt, I Am Legend, The Adjustment Bureau, and Across the Universe, but never a permanent production base there until now.
Proof’s credits include Stranger Things, Avatar: Fire and Ash, the Harry Potter films and TV series, and the Jurassic World franchise. Founded in 2002, the company bills itself as the world’s first studio dedicated solely to visualization, providing previs, postvis, pitchvis, techvis, stuntvis, animation, and virtual production for film, television, streaming, games, and live entertainment.
“Establishing Proof’s first New York studio is a full-circle moment, both personally and professionally,” Frankel said. “I began my career in visualization in Manhattan in the late ’90s, when the community of 3D artists and animators was relatively small. Today, New York has an extraordinary number of creative talent and filmmakers. Establishing a permanent presence here allows us to become part of that community and build on the relationships and creative collaborations that have always been at the heart of Proof.”
Frankel made the announcement during the VIEW panel “Industry Executives Shaping the Future of Cinema”; Benjamin Riehl, Proof’s global head of business development, also presented the session “Masters of the Universe with Proof Inc.” at the conference.
