What We Know About Filming in Hoboken
On the morning of Wednesday, October 14th, The Hoboken Girl team spotted film cameras and crews set up along Garden Street between 9th + 10th Streets. Throughout the morning, we also received lots of DMs from readers sharing photos + reports of filming around the area. Hoboken coffee shop The Hive, yes, the land of the cinnamon rolls, also announced on Instagram that it would be closed on Wednesday for filming. Rumors quickly started circulating that Sydney Sweeney was the star in town, and The Hoboken Girl later confirmed that she was spotted in Hoboken with Michele Morrone, otherwise known as Enzo in The Housemaid.
The filming is for The Housemaid’s Secret, the sequel to the 2025 thriller The Housemaid. Sydney Sweeney is returning as Millie Calloway, while Michele Morrone is returning as Enzo. The cast also includes Kirsten Dunst, Brittany Snow, Paul Anthony Kelly, + Stephen Kalyn.

And if Stephen’s name sounds familiar, there is a reason. Earlier this month, Stephen Kalyn was spotted around Hoboken near Dear Maud + Prime Cycle Body. Stephen plays Dean in the Amazon Prime series Off Campus and is also part of the cast of The Housemaid’s Secret. At the time, we had a few theories about why he might be hanging around the Mile Square, and it looks like our filming theory was right.
The Housemaid’s Secret has also been filming at other locations around New Jersey, including William Paterson University in Wayne, where Sydney was spotted filming earlier this month. The original Housemaid was filmed in New Jersey, too, so apparently all roads, especially filming roads, lead back here.
