The cause of death has been released for a woman whose body was found wrapped in blankets inside a trash can at a parking lot for a Brooklyn beach.
The New York City Medical Examiner’s office said on Wednesday the woman, Tanaya Campbell Ortiz, was strangled to death. The 38-year-old’s body was found on Sept. 16 in a garbage bin in the parking lot for Plumb Beach, near Belt Parkway and Knapp Street in Sheepshead Bay, according to police sources.
Her death is being investigated as a homicide.
No arrests have yet been made. Police have not yet released a description of a potential suspect.
An investigation is ongoing.
